The Story Behind BSL

A Century Of Delivering Outstanding Results

BSL’s early beginnings can be traced as far back as the early 1900s, when our company was first a subsidiary. Since then, thanks to the perennially hard-working ethic of our team and the support of our wonderful clients, we’ve built and fostered a rich history across NSW, Victoria and South Australia. Our history is one of achieving our clients’ personal business goals, but also one of never accepting “good enough” when it comes to our methods.

While we’re confident that very few other haulage companies can say the same about their background, we also know that a history like ours carries a certain expectation. An expectation by our clients that our standard of quality is exceptional bar none when transporting mineral sands today, even more so than in the past. 

Building An Identity Of Integrity And Collaboration

With over a century of operational experience behind us, we’ve learned that running a successful haulage operation requires two things: 

1. You need to love bulk haulage an unreasonable amount, and;
2. You can’t just offer a one-size-fits-all service. Haulage can’t be distilled into a checkbox; it is by its very nature a personalised service

For this second reason, our team at BSL have built an identity upon the bedrock of working with clients, not just for them. What our founders envisioned by this was chiefly sharing safety and productivity initiatives with our clients as we developed them. In turn, we found this fostered a deep sense of collaboration, respect and loyalty between our team, our clients & their site personnel. 

Contributing To A Safer Future

After a hundred years of building a professional culture of hauling enormous goods across states, we’ve learned that contributing to something bigger than ourselves is a rare - and important - thing. For us, that involves making haulage safer for all parties involved, including our clients, our drivers and the public we share our roads with across three distinct states. 

Our responsibility to the safety of our client’s goods, personnel and the general public is what keeps our team constantly innovating and improving every system that we come into contact with. Thankfully, it’s one thing that the entire BSL team derives meaning and fulfilment from. We absolutely plan to continue for another century!
